Today we open a new chapter, transitioning from REDF into Redefine Alliance.
For nearly three decades, we have been in the business of seeing what others miss: the talent and the tenacity of people who have been counted out for too long. At Redefine Alliance, we see these people for the gifts they have, not for the barriers they face. And we’ve cultivated a model uniquely designed to help their talent succeed: employment social enterprises.
Spoiler alert: our efforts are working. Across the country, hundreds of enterprises have heeded the call — establishing themselves as vibrant anchors in their communities, contributing over $3.1 billion in earned revenue to their local economies, and collectively helping over 160,000 people feel the power of work. That’s 160,000 moms, dads, siblings, and friends stepping onto their new beginning and inspiring countless others to follow suit.
Yet even with that traction, with 10 million people overcoming these barriers, there is still so much more we can and must do.
And if there’s anything these past few years have taught us, it’s that we can press on to new horizons — further, faster — when we do so in community. So we approach this next horizon with an alliance of friends: shoulder to shoulder with entrepreneurs in our portfolio and hand in hand with new allies in the work, too.

If we can work together, we achieve what none of us can do on our own. We don’t just reach the goals of any singular enterprise, we set the bar for others to rise to. We transition from the precision of fund to the velocity of a movement.
New name. Same mission. Now crystallized with a sharper focus: to redefine what talent looks like in this country, and to ensure employers everywhere no longer miss out.
I hope you’ll join us.
