Women’s Bean Project

Women’s Bean Project is a non-profit social enterprise that believes all women have the power to transform their lives through employment. They hire women experiencing chronic unemployment and work with them to discover their talents and potential. Through the combination of a job, basic needs support, and life skills development, they encourage women to overcome their barriers to success and recognize their self-worth.

The Bean Project began 37 years ago with just 2 employees making 10 Bean Soup. Today, close to 2,000 women have participated in the program, making a variety of nourishing food products – like soups, spice blends, baking mixes, and on-the-go snacks – that the organization sells across the US in grocery stores, specialty retailers, and online. Every purchase provides women with the tools they need to build a better life for themselves, their families, and their communities.
