Mentor For Change

Mentor For Change (MFC) is a Los Angeles-based nonprofit providing long-term, career-focused mentoring for first-generation low-income (FGLI), unhoused, and justice-involved youth. For over 12 years, MFC has helped hundreds of youth build pathways to postsecondary education, meaningful careers, and community leadership through 1-to-1 relational mentoring, career-readiness and college-access support, and youth-led community impact projects.MFC is expanding its mentorship capacity to equip systems-impacted youth with workforce training and employment opportunities by launching a social enterprise boba shop in East LA. The social enterprise will close a critical gap in employment access by creating a space for youth to grow through hands-on learning and workplace mentorship that fosters hope, skills and economic mobility. MFC is co-creating the coffee shop with youth participants, inviting their voices and creativity so that the space reflects their vision.
